Bike details

Information from the seller:

- Derailleur, cranks and STI levers are RSX, not XT!!! -

This about 30 year old 10.9 kg cyclocross bike I inherited from my father. It is made from Al 7020 and the welding spots were smoothed out to the extent that the frame looks almost like a carbon frame. It has XT brakes and a 3x7 RSX drive train with smoothly functioning STI levers, except the XT front derailleur. Besides the mid-level braking performance it is of excellent functionality. The bike was ridden very little and hasn't had any incidents/impacts.

Frame ID:
251 94017

Frame geometry (measured, could be off by 1-2 cm):
- stack 40 cm
- reach 50 cm
- seat tube height 52 cm

Cockpit geometry (measured, as above):
- bar width 42 cm (centre to centre)
- bar reach 13 cm
- stem reach 10 cm

Damage:
- the "Müsing" and "Corrente" stickers are inbad shape (completely dried out, but easily removable)
- only few scratches and usual signs of age
- scratch ontop of the stem
- the purple lock nut of the upper headset bearings has significant scratches (my bad)
- the RSX logo on the right STI lever is only about 2/3 conserved

Replaced/added:
- original XT braking pads were completely dried out, braking performance was poor. Replaced by new ones from jagwire with replaceable rubbers
- new cassette (11-28 as original) and chain (only factory grease)
- new QR axes for both wheels and the seat clamp. Levers replaced by 5-sided Allen keys
- bottle cage included (the screws are not original, though)

Things you may want to take a look at:
- the bottom bracket works fine and smoothly, just shows a little more resistance than usual when rotating the cranks manually. Not noticeable when riding
- the brake cables, especially the rear one, are in mediocre condition. Braking performance is fine, but if you want more performance I'd seek to replace them and their housings

I sell it because it is far too long for me. I am looking for a more modern bike with easier replacement of parts and adjustment of the geometry. And the colours are not my cup of tea I tell you. But if you are looking for a retro bike that is functionally in excellent condition and really not a slow donkey, this should make you happy. Please check the dimensions!
